Unforgettable stories. We publish work that stays with you long after you close the book.

Who We Are

Where Stories
Find Their Voice.

We are a home for independent authors whose work refuses to be easily categorized, or easily forgotten. Founded by an independent storyteller who chose to build her own press rather than wait for permission, Dreaming on Paper exists for writers who value authenticity over trends and lasting impact over fleeting popularity.

We publish stories that embrace both light and shadow, honoring the darkness while never losing sight of the strength required to fight through it. Whether epic fantasy, heartfelt fiction, poetry, art, or something entirely its own, every work of art we champion is united by one belief: stories matter most when they are told honestly.

If you've written the story only you could tell, you've found a place where your voice belongs.

A Rootbound Prequel

Rue was born into power. Root and wind bend to her the way they've never bent to anyone in her family. It's a gift. It's also a weight, one her mother never lets her forget.

Visiting her ancestral home, a small village at the base of the Carpathian Mountains, Rue finds a place where the forest has never belonged only to the living. It's there she learns that some promises made generations ago come due, whether anyone remembers making them or not.

It's also where she meets Rob, a handsome stranger from the forest. As their relationship grows, Rue feels something she's never felt before: someone looking at her like she's more than what she can do. He's easy to talk to. Easy to trust. Easy to fall for.

But as the border between this world and the next begins to fray, Rue wonders if the man she loves is who he says he is. And whether the thing she's been trained to fight has already gotten closer than anyone thought possible.

A prequel novella set seventeen years before Rootbound, Demonbound is the story that's only ever been hinted at. Some legacies are inherited. Others are paid for.

When a mysterious fog swallows a Chicago alley, taking seven souls, including his father, seventeen-year-old Eli Carter discovers the buzzing in his head isn't anxiety. It's power. Power that should have protected everyone. Power his father spent years suppressing.

Aneska has been running her whole life, bouncing between foster homes with only fading memories of her murdered mother. But when she saves Eli from the same otherworldly fog, the light that erupts from her hands reveals she's far more than the nobody she's always believed herself to be.

Thrown together by forces beyond their understanding, Eli and Aneska must navigate the Spirit Realm, a dimension where demons bargain in blood, ancient creatures feast on memory, and the bridge between worlds is failing. Both carry birthrights they never asked for: Eli as the heir to a dangerous legacy his father tried to hide, and Aneska as something the Spirit Realm has been waiting centuries to find.

But in a world where heroes die and monsters survive, they'll both have to decide how much of themselves they're willing to sacrifice for the power to save what they love. And when every mentor hides their own agenda and every victory demands a terrible price, the line between salvation and damnation becomes impossible to see.

Dark, visceral, and unflinching, Rootbound is an epic fantasy that explores the price of power, the weight of destiny, and what happens when two teenagers discover that becoming strong enough to save everyone might mean losing everything that made them worth saving.

Crowned is Sherry Sharp's channeled collection of poetry, prayers, prose, and love letters written during her own feminine awakening, an invitation to meet the Divine Feminine, the Mother Goddess, in every form she takes.

Part confession, part reclamation, the book moves through grief, desire, and self-abandonment toward a hard-won tenderness. It asks the questions many women carry quietly: who am I outside the roles I play, and what would it mean to finally become my own Muse?

Written for anyone ready to stop waiting for someone else to complete them, Crowned is a guide back to sisterhood, sensuality, and sovereignty, an offering to help you crown yourself and rule your own life from a place of inner knowing.

The Authors

C.A. Doyle

Meet
C.A. Doyle

C.A. Doyle is a debut dark fantasy and horror author based in Ohio.

Her debut series, Savage Daughter of Seven, began with Rootbound — a story rooted in Slavic folklore, elemental magic, and the kind of horror that starts quiet and doesn't stop.

When she's not writing, Carie operates a small horse boarding barn in Ohio, where she's a third-generation equestrian. She began writing fiction seriously during recovery from a knee injury and hasn't stopped since.

She believes in stories that earn their darkness, characters who are allowed to fail, and readers who are smart enough to keep up.

Sherry Sharp

Sherry Sharp is a Reiki Master Practitioner, healing energy artist, author, and podcaster. She hosts Running On Reiki Light, available on Spotify and YouTube, where she channels messages from Spirit, especially The Goddess Mother.

Her two books were born during her feminine awakening years, a season when she wrote prolifically, capturing wisdom that came through to guide her own journey. Eventually she felt called by her inner Goddess voice to turn those writings into books meant to help others.

Each book blends channeled messages, poems, meditations, prose, divinations, prayers, journal exercises, rituals, chants, nature wisdom, and affirmations, all designed to open readers to the Divine Feminine and the presence of the Mother Goddess. Read one passage a day and it becomes a doorway into meditation, transformation, and healing.

At its heart, Sherry's work is an invitation to claim deep self-love and self-worth, turning feelings of unworthiness, grief, anger, and anxiety into empowerment. It's a guide back to your own majesty, and a reminder of the path and purpose you've been searching for.
